This is now a stupid running joke: me not having yet screencapped the rest of the Harlequin comics bought 2 years ago. And to make matters worse, I just keep buying more. But… I try… I really do try cleaning. It’s just that sometimes, I can’t seem to resist purchasing a manga even though I know I’ve got over hundreds waiting for me to make a safe copy, just in case the ebookstores I use keel over and disappear with my purchases.

Whatever, today I’m adding this batch to my Harlequin & Romance comic raws collection page:

Details and samples for each manga can be read at the following pages:
► Harlequin comics raws: A-E | F-J | K-O | P-T | U-Z | Complete multi-author series
► Non-Harlequin manga raws: Adapted from Western works | Original Japanese works

If someone is interested in scanlating a story or more in that list, you can submit a request for the raws HERE.
But I suggest for English speaking scanlators to look preferably at the non-Harlequin manga list. The Harlequin comics are consistently translated into English by the publisher. So sooner or later, the one you’re interested in will get translated. Contrastingly, the non-Harlequin mangas are barely picked by anyone.

I feel like an utter failure. Don’t laugh but despite my efforts to scan the Harlequin comics purchased a year ago, there are still some left unattended. I’m terrible, buying more and more and unable to find the time to screencapture them all in my greed. I try, I swear that I try!

Well, in the meantime, I’m adding this batch to my Harlequin & Romance comic raws collection page (details, information and samples available there) :

But I’d really like for scanlators to look at the Romance mangas instead of the Harlequin ones. It’s not that I don’t like Harlequin comics. It’s just that they are now consistently translated and released by the publisher. So sooner or later, the Harlequin manga you’re interested in will be officially translated. In comparison, the Romance mangas are hardly picked up by anyone so far.

It’s been a while and I bought a lot of mangas. There are many promos at different sites so I just grab the Harlequin and Romance comics I don’t have yet in Japanese. Here are some of those latest acquisitions. Details, information and samples are available at my Harlequin & Romance comic raws collection page.

Maybe I’m in a foul mood, or maybe it’s that bad cold making me cough for over a month that’s turning me grumpy. I absolutly dislike Beyond Innocence illustrated by Takamure Tamotsu-san. It’s one of the rare Emma Holly’s novels I’ve read and liked. Even if I don’t expect a manga adaptation to be accurate, I barely recognize the story.

I don’t feel like writing a detailed post today. Anyways, information for the mangas below is compiled in my Harlequin & Romance comic raws collection. For samples, go there. Harlequin comics

Today I’m adding 12 mangas to my collection.

  1. Lucy Monroe & OKAMOTO Keiko: Wedding Vow of Revenge
  2. Carole Mortimer & ICHIJU Yuko: Bound by Contract
  3. Emma Wildes & OHARA Juri: Lessons from a Scarlet Lady
  4. Julia James & ASOU Ayumu: Greek Tycoon, Waitress Wife (scanlated)
  5. Kathryn Ross & AKINO Nanami: Blackmailed by the Boss
  6. Maya Banks & HIDAKA Nanao: The Tycoon’s Pregnant Mistress (translated)
  7. Catherine George & SOMA Jinko: Lair of the Dragon
  8. Emilie Rose & INOUE Emiko: The Millionaire’s Indecent Proposal
  9. Olivia Gates & MISONO Ellie: Doctors on the Frontline
  10. Jennifer LaBrecque & HASHIMOTO Takako: Kids + Cops = Chaos
  11. Jacqueline Baird & HORI Erio: Giordanni’s Proposal
  12. Lindsay Armstrong & NANAHOSHI Sae: The Girl He Never Noticed

All of them are Harlequin comics except for Lessons from a Scarlet Lady, published under the Bamboo Comics imprint. This manga was confusing, jumping from one couple to the other. It seems like the novel is just the same. It’s a pity because the main couple is deliciously spicy while the secondary couple offers your usual type of vanilla romance… without porn. Must be the lack of smut involving the second couple that caused my boredom with them. As for the main couple, fortunately, there’s plenty of smut bordering on kinky to satisfy my pervy self and catch my attention. Plus, I like romances featuring couples already married needing to deal with what happens after the marriage.

About Kids + Cops = Chaos, I love it for 2 reasons. Reason 1: Jennifer LaBrecque. Reason 2: Hashimoto-sensei. I’ve always appreciated Jennifer LaBrecque’s stories. They are always funny, sweet and plaster a smile on your face for hours. I don’t understand the text parts in the manga but Hashimito-sensei’s drawings are expressive enough to make me laugh out loud from the start to the end. The author was lucky to have sensei illustrate her story because there aren’t many Harlequin comic mangakas who can convey humor like Hashimoto-san — personally, I think she’s the best. She draws the most impishly cute kids and paces her panels the right way to bring out the comedy. I couldn’t help cracking up at those kids’ pranks and antics. Boy, this manga is so hilarious!

I’ll conclude with a special mention for Doctors on the Frontline. This manga is different from your usual Harlequin comics, or even your standard Harlequin novel. I’ve known Misono Ellie — also spelled Misono Erii —since her manga adaptation of the BL Corsair series. It was already visually pretty back then, and when I saw the previews for sensei’s first Harlequin comics, I couldn’t wait to purchase the digital manga. The art is even more pretty than what I remember. And the story is… something different. The setting and gripping introduction scene make you really feel this is happening in a war zone. The tense atmosphere, people on edge, the urgency of the situations…

I like a lot when the heroine is truly a strong woman — hey, you have to commend this lady who uses a gun and actually shoots in the very first pages of the manga! And the hero is totally hot. I have a thing for tough looking pretty guys, unkempt with a stubble. And they look even sexier wearing bandages… Talking about sexy, the one sex scene of the manga is short but so HOT!? No no, you don’t see the dirty bits but the facial expressions are so sensual, you can well imagine those dirty passionate things they must be doing!

I bought lots of books this month. One day, I hope to be able to get all those manga adaptations based on Western romance novels. o (◡‿◡✿)
